Identifying Strengths… Promoting Inclusion… Creating Possibilities
Inclusive Mission
At NICS Wellbeing C.I.C, our social mission is to empower people with a lived experience of mental health and additional needs to live at their best. Through trusting relationships and confidential spaces, we aim to explore solutions to challenges and identify strengths that will provide people with the confidence to thrive. We promote inclusion in our teams, programmes and create new possibilities which empower people to lead fulfilling lives.
We aim to reduce stigma, increase understanding of lived experiences and create opportunities where people can contribute meaningfully.
NICS Story
Since 2007 Sabrina Ellis has worked in the NHS, Private Health and Voluntary Sector. Sabrina became self-employed in 2016 to identify and meet the needs of her Neurodiverse family. She always had a passion to provide more support to people facing challenging situations but was unsure what that would look like or how she could reach that goal. In 2022, Sabrina’s mother Pat and Sister Nicola both passed away suddenly requiring Sabrina to take time away from work. Upon returning to work in May 2023, Sabrina recognised that now was the time to extend her reach further into the community and create a Wellbeing team for all. NICS Wellbeing C.I.C was established in June 2023.
It was only right that the organisation took on the name of Nicola, Nic for short. As Nic always supported Sabrina, NICS Wellbeing will go on to support others. Nicola was a proud teacher for those experiencing additional needs. She strived daily to support the success for those who had little or no positive input in their lives elsewhere. That’s why at NICS Wellbeing, selfcare and togetherness will be key elements of the success it brings to the lives of others.
The way NICS Works
NICS Wellbeing was established as a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) with the specific aim of serving the community rather than individual shareholders. The Wellbeing Team is dedicated to providing clients and businesses with various opportunities including paid work initiatives, organisational sponsorship, funded programs and fundraising wellness events.
